SANDY DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT COMPANY
BOARD OF DIRECTORS The Sandy Improvement Company is a special purpose local government organized under ORS 554. The landowners form the legal constituency and elect the open seats for a three person Board of Supervisors at the annual meeting in June of each year. ORS 554 is a chapter of the law which allows drainage districts to form as a non-profit company, rather than a non-profit government agency. The differences may be subtle, but the primary one is that SDIC's assessments are not compressed by the count, allowing it to remain financially solvent. SDIC is the only district which chose to reorganize under this chapter. Phil Ralston
